Terms of Service for SideWriter QuickDocs

1. Introduction

Welcome to SideWriter QuickDocs ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SideWriter QuickDocs Chrome extension ("the Extension") and any related services. By installing or using the Extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the Terms, you may not use the Extension.

2. Description of Service

SideWriter QuickDocs is a Chrome extension that allows users to add text to Google Docs documents directly from the browser. The Extension requires access to your Google account to function properly, limited to the specific permissions outlined in our Privacy Policy.

To use the Extension, you must:

• Have a valid Google account
• Grant the necessary permissions for the Extension to function
• Comply with these Terms and all applicable laws

4. Google Account Access

The Extension requires permission to access parts of your Google account. Specifically, the Extension requests access to:

• View and list your Google Docs files
• Add content to your Google Docs documents

We only access the specific information needed for the Extension to function properly and do not collect or store your documents' content on our servers. You can revoke these permissions at any time through your Google account settings.

5. User Conduct

When using the Extension, you agree not to:

• Use the Extension to violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or create derivative works based on the Extension
• Use the Extension in any way that could harm, disable, or impair the functionality of Google's services

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE EXTENSION.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless us and our affiliates, officers, agents, employees, and partners from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) that arise from or relate to your use or misuse of the Extension or your violation of these Terms.

We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party services.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision will be changed and interpreted to accomplish the objectives of such provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
